"It is clear that African American women have financial concerns that are far different from those of the African American males, and they must take certain steps to safeguard their financial futures. African American women can take seven wealth-building steps to help them cope with their unique money management concerns:
Step 1: DON'T WAIT FOR MR. RIGHT TO GET YOUR FINANCIAL HOUSE IN ORDER
-taking care of finances is not just a man's job, right?
-we must be self-reliant when it comes to making basic money management decisions
-we can't continue to believe that men know more about money matters than we do
-we spend many years as singles or as single parents, and need to become financially astute.
-if we do otherwise we are relying on someone else to safeguard our financial future-someone who might not be as interested in our future security.
-if we learn to depend on our selves, we will never have to wait for Mr. Right to make the right money move.
PS. My life changed completely when I went through two major life changing experiences.
1. A drug war hit my home- disrupted finances and life-style
2. Kidney Failure
Just to share a few.
Until next time,
